JOB TITLE – Simulation Team Lead - (Full-Time)

 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – The Simulation Team Lead will coordinate the work of Simulation Operators on assignment and assist with medical simulation training for HealthTrust Educational Programs. Simulation Team Leads are responsible for the set-up, operation and troubleshooting and general maintenance of HWS simulation equipment and task trainers.

SUPERVISES None 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Coordinates the work of Simulation Operators on assignment
  • Functions as subject matter expert and available to provide technical support to Simulation Operators
  • Provides new hire education and training as requested
  • Provide input into staff scheduling
  • Provide input into staff performance evaluations
  • Coordinates Simulations with HealthTrust Education team
  • Conducts preventative maintenance , upgrades and repairs of simulation equipment
  • Actively participates in Educational/Simulation program design
  • Operates and maintains task trainers, mannequin-based simulators, and associated supplies and equipment
  • Operates simulation equipment with the ability to follow medical aspects of training scenarios and makes appropriate adjustments based on participant actions as directed by Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Operates an audio-video recording system i.e. SimView Mobile, learning space or similar
  • Sets up simulation supplies/equipment to meet assigned training site objectives
  • Package equipment and palletize for return delivery if necessary Serves on HWS Disaster team and participates in all activities related to readiness, planning, and implementation. Other duties as assigned.
 

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES – This position requires the following minimal requirements:

  • Knowledge- Medical Simulation experience a plus
  • Communication – strong presentation skills, including clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  • Adaptability – ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks and/or work environment; adjusts effectively to rapidly changing work structures, processes, requirements and cultures.

  • PC Skills – demonstrates strong proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience in using web-based development and authoring products such as learning management systems,
  • Stress Tolerance – maintains stable performance under pressure or opposition (such as time pressure or job ambiguity); handles stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
  • Travel- Up to 75% travel may be required during peak season
  • EDUCATION – Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred, equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement
  • EXPERIENCE – 2-3 years preferred
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE – None
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – 
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting some walking, standing, repetitive tasks/ motions and stretching
  • Requires ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Requires clarity of vision, eye-hand-foot coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment and communicate appropriately to perform job responsibilities. 
  • Requires normal range of hearing, verbal communication and eyesight to record, prepare,
  • Requires ability to fly on airplanes, be properly licensed and able to rent and drive an automobile, and work in diverse office settings.  Minimum of 50% travel will be required.
