JOB TITLE – Simulation Manager - (Full-Time)


GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – The Simulation Manager will coordinate the work of Simulation Team Leads and Operators on assignment and assist with medical simulation training for HealthTrust Educational Programs. Simulation Managers are responsible for overseeing the set-up, operation and troubleshooting and general maintenance of HWS simulation equipment and task trainers.

  • Coordinates the work of Simulation Operators on assignment and leads teams through completion of training programs
  • Establishes and maintains KPI’s and conducts regular performance evaluations of staff
  • Manages new cohort implementations
  • Manages cohorts within budgetary guidelines
  • Manages scheduling for all Simulation team Leads and Operators
  • Functions as subject matter expert and available to provide technical support to Simulation Leads and Operators
  • Provides new hire education and training for all staff
  • Coordinates Simulations Programming with HealthTrust Education team
  • Oversees preventative maintenance, upgrades and repairs of simulation equipment
  • Actively participates in Educational/Simulation program design
  • Serves on HWS Disaster team and participates in all activities related to readiness, planning, and implementation. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES – This position requires the following minimal requirements:

  • Knowledge- Medical Simulation experience a plus
  • Communication – strong presentation skills, including clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  • Adaptability – ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks and/or work environment; adjusts effectively to rapidly changing work structures, processes, requirements and cultures.

  • PC Skills – demonstrates strong proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience in using web-based development and authoring products such as learning management systems,
  • Stress Tolerance – maintains stable performance under pressure or opposition (such as time pressure or job ambiguity); handles stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
  • Travel- Up to 75% travel may be required during peak season
  • EDUCATION –Bachelor’s degree preferred, equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement
  • EXPERIENCE – 3-5 years preferred
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting some walking, standing, repetitive tasks/ motions and stretching
  • Requires ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Requires clarity of vision, eye-hand-foot coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment and communicate appropriately to perform job responsibilities. 
  • Requires normal range of hearing, verbal communication and eyesight to record, prepare,
  • Requires ability to fly on airplanes, be properly licensed and able to rent and drive an automobile, and work in diverse office settings.  Minimum of 50% travel will be required.
